Hindenburg crosses a line

By making wild, reckless allegations against India’s securities regulator, and personal attacks on two top class professionals, Hindenburg’s true colours are exposed: its main goal is not financial research, but financial terrorism.

Dhaval Buch has had a stellar professional career. An IIT Delhi grad, he worked for around two decades in the consumer-packaged goods leader Unilever group, at first in the Indian subsidiary Hindustan Unilever, and later at various roles at the global level. By the time he left, he was the global Chief Procurement Office of the overall Unilever group.

After leading a full-time career, he has been doing various advisory roles. Currently he is an advisor to global PE giant, Blackstone and to Alvarez & Marshal, a consulting firm that counts Blackstone as a client.

That is hugely successful career by any yardstick.

And now, in its latest round of unsubstantiated mudslinging, this so-called researh firm Hindenburg has chosen to target Mr Buch, and his spouse and SEBI chief Madhabi Puri Buch.

Hindenburg has chosen to target the SEBI chief herself, and her family, because SEBI sent a show-cause notice to Hindenburg on June 27th, 2024. In a mafia-style response, this shady organization has decided to take down India’s regulator and its chief.

This is clearly a reckless organisation that needs to be severely dealt with.
